François Masquelier

Originally from Liège, Belgium my career has included working with some of the best known companies in Europe including Eridania Béghin-Say (Coordination Centre), , Sakura Bank, ABN AMRO and as Head of Corporate Finance & Treasury and Chief Risk Officer of RTL Group from November 1997 until end of December 2019.

 

In support of my professional career and having studied at the Business School of Liège, I have a master’s in law and a master’s in Tax Law, a Degree in Economy and Administration and a Post Graduate Degree in Management from the Solvay Business School (Brussels). I am ICIP and ICIS (Internal Control Institute Professional/Specialist), ISO 31000 certified and graduated from ICHEC in Enterprise Risk Management. Additionally, I am currently studying for my Private Equity Business Certificate at the Sacred Heart University, Luxembourg.

 

Operating as the President of the Association of Corporate Treasurers of Luxembourg (ATEL – 350 members in Luxembourg), I am also Vice-Chairman and Founder of European Association of Corporate Treasurers (EACT – federation of 23 national treasury associations, 13.000+ members across 21 countries – based in Paris).

 

My career and experience has enabled me to become an effective  “Thought Leader” in Treasury and a regular contributor to different finance magazines and newspapers, including being the Editorial Director of the “Treasurer Magazine” (former “Magazine du Trésorier”), semi-annual publication dedicated to Treasury, Corporate Finance and Risk Management issues. 

 

I have published more than 300 articles over last 20 years in different newspapers and professional magazine. But I have also published 5 books on treasury, cash management and IFRS standards on financial instruments, and I lecture at the House of Training Luxembourg and FEBELFIN in Belgium.

 

Working with clients on a range of projects, my work now includes Strategic Advisory, Communication & Representation and Training & Coaching.
